07.09.2017

IDGC of Centre – Kostromaenergo division has entered the final phase of the preparation for the operation through the autumn-winter maximum load. The enterprise is completing the implementation of the main activities of the repair program and stocking the emergency reserve and continues to improve the system of operational and technical management of power grid facilities.

The repair program is one of the key preparations for the winter for power engineers. The company has already completed the bulk of the work. In total, within 2017, 23 substations of 35-110 kV, 597 transformer substations of 0.4-10 kV and more than 115 km of overhead and cable power lines of 0.4-110 kV will be repaired at Kostromaenergo.

Based on last year’s experience of passing the period of maximum loads, in the preparation for the current period of the autumn-winter maximum load, the branch places special emphasis on improving the reliability of operation of overhead power lines. An important component of this work is clearing and expansion of ROWs of power lines from woody and shrubby vegetation. In 2017, Kostromaenergo will clear 1672.2 hectares and expand 250 hectares of ROWs of overhead power lines. The bulk of this work has also been completed.

Measures are being taken to improve the operational and technological management of power grid infrastructure facilities: emergency response and fire fighting trainings, joint exercises for cooperation in liquidation of emergency/extraordinary situations in the power grid with participation of General Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Kostroma Region, city and district administrations, the branch of JSC "SO UES" Kostroma Regional Dispatch Office, other energy companies operating in the region. From the planned in Kostromaenergo for 2017 1,344 trainings, 994 have been conducted to date, including 15 grid-wide trainings for entering timetables for temporary disconnection of electric power consumption.

"Full and timely implementation of all the preparatory measures will ensure a high-quality and reliable power supply to consumers of the Kostroma region, and to a large extent will facilitate the uninterrupted operation of Kostromaenergo’s power grid complex during the period of the autumn-winter maximum of loads," notes First Deputy Director - Chief Engineer of IDGC of Centre – Kostromaenergo division Alexander Chutkov.
