On the site of Smolens City Distribution Zone of IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division there was a solemn line-up of closing the summer work shift of the students’ construction crew "Energet", consisting of 31 students of the branch of the National Research University "MPEI" in the city of Smolensk.
Representatives of the university and the branch of the power company made speeches at the event to members of the construction crew. They thanked the students for their responsibility in carrying out the work, observance of safety rules and discipline. All the speakers noted the importance of the construction crew movement not only in dealing with personnel issues, but also in organizing temporary employment for young people and acquiring professional skills. Based on the results of the work performed, all the members of the "Energet" crew were awarded with commendations or diplomas of the branch.
This year, the construction crew was divided into several groups. The first group, consisting of 10 students, worked at power facilities as part of the repair program of the branch. The construction crew and the contractor organization LLC "RegionEnergo-3" carried out work on the construction of cable lines of SS "Severnaya". Also, with their participation, the construction of transformer substations and cable lines for the grid connection of a filling station in Marshal Eremenko Street in the city of Smolensk and for the grid connection of the Katyn Memorial Complex, located in Smolensky district (State-owned Federal State Institution "Directorate for Construction, Reconstruction and Restoration").
Another 11 members of the construction crew were involved in taking readings of electric energy meters in the city of Smolensk and the Smolensk region. As part of the crews of the electricity metering department, the construction crew members took about 1,000 control readings of metering devices from household customers, which amounted to about 40% of the total number of readings taken by all Smolensky Distribution Zone. The students of the construction team took an active part in identifying cases of theft of electricity and provided tangible assistance to the Branch. The control reading of the electricity metering devices took place in the villages of Smolensky district: Verbovka, Grinevo, Boroviki, Guschino, Zaborye, Zagorye, Zamoschye, Khlusy, Babny, Babni, Tepenino, Afonki.
Three construction crew members worked in the crews of cable lines of Smolensk City Distribution Zone of the branch. The students performed work on 6 kV cable lines and 6/0.4 kV transformer substations, powered from the "Diffusion" and "Chernushki" substations. They dismantled 158 metres of a damaged cable section and laid a new cable.
Seven girls from the construction crew worked as technicians of the production and technical group of Smolensky and Smolensk City Distribution Zones, the office of distribution networks and the office of interaction with customers.
The students noted that they felt as full members of the team, they realized they were needed and the work that they were doing was of importance. In addition to production tasks, the members of the construction crew took part in sports events. For example, in July a friendly football match took place with employees of Smolensk City Distribution Zone.
