Hotline of power engineering specialists:
IDGC of Centre – Tambovenergo division closed the fourth working season of the students’ construction crew "Energy". From 1 July to 15 August, 15 students of the Institute of Power Engineering, Instrument Making and Radio Electronics of the Tambov State Technical University (TSTU) worked at the branch’s facilities. Even before the start of work at the power facilities, the students received safety briefings, learned the rules of labour protection and, being fully staffed with necessary materials, tools and overalls, received permits to work with power equipment.
Ten members of the construction crew under the guidance of experienced masters-instructors assisted in carrying out repair work and maintenance of power supply facilities located in the service area of the Tambovsky Distribution Zone. They participated in the work on clearing ROWs of overhead power lines, taking readings of meters, were involved in updating operating names at power facilities, applying numbering to power line poles, installing warning signs in security zones of overhead lines.
Five members worked at the Tambovsky section of the substation service of the branch, they were involved in the implementation of comprehensive overhaul of the main feeding centres of Tambovsky district. They studied the equipment, were engaged in the application of operating names, as well as the improvement of premises of the power facility.
According to the leader of the construction crew Sergey Burnoy, during the labour semester all the studens in many ways learned and appreciated what in reality the power engineering profession is. "The positive attitude, friendly atmosphere in the crew and the inexhaustible energy helped us to cope with all the tasks set. In practice, as future specialists, we have gained invaluable experience," he notes.
"The students proved themselves to be responsible and competent assistants, and after graduating from the institute, I am sure they will be able to become competent experts and professionals of their business," stressed one of the instructors of the construction crew, the head of the Tambovsky section of the substation service of the office of high-voltage grids Vitaly Milovanov.
