Eleven students from the construction crew "Energet" of the branch of National Research University "MPEI" in the city of Smolensk, who are currently actively working in subdivisions of IDGC of Centre -Smolenskenergo division, have started to participate in the raid work to take readings of electricity meters. The construction workers were admitted to the work after preliminary training and briefings. The raids are supervised by experienced mentors from the staff of Smolensky and Smolensk City Distribution Zones of the branch. The students will be involved in raid work for residential consumers living in the private sector of Smolensky district and the city of Smolensk. It is planned that for the day each participant of the construction crew will take about 20 readings of electric energy meters.
Such work is carried out in the second year in a row. Last year, as part of crews the members of the construction crew, 3,663 readings of electricity metering devices were taken. The young people actively participated in the raids to identify non-metered consumption with participation of law enforcement bodies and the security service of the branch. This year this type of activity becomes even more urgent due to the fact that PJSC Rosseti declared 2017 as the year of struggle against losses of electricity.
The main task of the construction crew is to collect reliable information on volumes of electricity consumption in these districts. For this purpose, verification of readings of the metering devices of customers is carried out in order to compare the amounts of electricity delivered and paid by the consumer. This helps the branch not only to generate volumes of productive supply of electric energy to consumers reliably, but also to take measures to reduce the level of losses. In addition, raid work helps to identify faulty meters and illegal electricity consumption.
Please, be reminded that the fourth season of students’ construction crews of IDGC of Centre -Smolenskenergo division started in early July 2017. The construction crew consists of 31 people, who are conditionally divided into groups, each of them engaged in different types of activities.
