Kurskenergo in connection with the onset of a fire hazardous period has strengthened the control over the operation of power facilities

In connection with the hot weather on the territory of the Kursk region, measures to ensure reliable operation of power grid facilities have been strengthened by IDGC of Centre – Kurskenergo division.

The power engineers conduct additional inspections of substation equipment and overhead lines. Particular attention is paid to ensuring fire safety of outdoor and indoor switchgears, oil storages, oil-filled power equipment, as well as auxiliary and household buildings and structures. ROWs of electric power lines are cleared from trees and shrubs and combustible rubbish.

In all subdivisions of Kurskenergo there are unscheduled inspections of equipment and serviceability of primary fire extinguishing means. Additional briefings of operational personnel are organized.

Even in the run-up to the fire-dangerous period, Kurskenergo’s specialists performed fire line plowing in the perimeter of more than 200 35-110 kV substations that do not have a continuous concrete fence and are located in zones of fire hazardous areas. 30 joint trainings were conducted with the personnel of the territorial division of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia on working out of interaction at liquidation of emergency situations with the threat of power supply disruption.
