Kostromaenergo in the first half of the year exceeded the planned targets of the energy saving program by 2.3 times

25.07.2017

IDGC of Centre – Kostromaenergo summed up the implementation of the energy saving and energy efficiency improvement program for 6 months of 2017. During this period, the enterprise exceeded the key indicators set by the document by 137%, the total effect of the program was 68 thousand kWh.

The largest amount of savings - 40.7 thousand kWh - was given by technical measures: replacement of wires for a larger section on overloaded lines and replacement of the wire of taps of overhead lines in residential buildings with self-supporting insulated wire (SIW), etc. As part of reducing costs for its utility needs, the power company in the first half of the year replaced about two thousand incandescent lamps with energy-efficient, LED.

2.4 thousand kWh was saved due to the implementation of organizational measures, including, with switching off transformers in low load modes in substations with two or more transformers, switching off transformers with seasonal load, and also equalizing the phase loads in distribution networks of 0.38 KV.

As a result of 2017, the effect of energy-saving measures in Kostromaenergo, according to the plan, should be 91.4 thousand kWh.

"The funds saved as a result of the implementation of the energy saving program are channelled primarily to the development of the branch’s grid infrastructure. This allows to increase the efficiency of the power grid complex, the quality and reliability of electricity supply, create additional capacity to connect new customers," stresses Andrey Meluzov, Deputy Chief Engineer for production assets management and development of Kostromaenergo.
