Hotline of power engineering specialists:
Within the framework of the summer production practice, students of the 3rd course of the specialties "Electric power systems and grids" and "Electric power supply" of the branch of "National Research University "MPEI" in the city of Smolensk visited the Grid Control Centre of IDGC of Centre – Smolenskenergo division.
The tour was conducted by Lyudmila Solodovnikova, the deputy head of the operational service of the Grid Control Centre. She introduced the students to the structure of the company and the Centre itself. The students were able to get acquainted with the main premises of the Grid Control Centre, necessary equipment for work, saw the most interesting and modern technologies for managing the energy system, and most importantly could watch the work of operators in real time. The students actively asked questions about the work of the operators, the history of the development of the Centre.
IDGC of Centre – Smolenskenergo division has been cooperating with the specialized university for many years and similar production practices are held annually. In addition, specialists of the branch supervise diploma and coursework, participate in the work of final examination commissions, hold competitions of scientific projects among works of bachelors and masters. For 4 consecutive years, students’ construction crews have been working on the site of the branch, in which students of the university work for one month and a half.
