IDGC of Centre – Belgorodenergo division returned the whole amount of the damage caused through the court.
The fact of illegal connection of power installations of a businessman to the power grid was revealed by a crew of power engineers as a result of checking a store located in the settlement of Oktyabrsky in Belgorodsky district. After the forced limitation of electric power supply, some electrical appliances and lighting continued to function, which clearly indicated the connection to the lead-in cable bypassing the meter.
The cost of non-contractual consumption was calculated in accordance with Resolution of the Government of the Russian Federation dated 04.05.2012 No. 442, based on the cable capacity, and amounted to about 350 thousand rubles. An act on non-metered electricity consumption was drawn up in relation to the owner. The branch appealed to the court to have the damage compensated, which satisfied the claimant’s demands in full.
It should be noted that this is not the first fact of theft of electricity from representatives of small business. Similar violations of the current legislation in the sphere of energy consumption in June were identified in Belgorodsky and Korochansky districts of the region. Acts of non-metered consumption of electricity are made against owners and employees of grocery stores in the villages of Nikolskoye and Alexeevka, who intentionally distorted the data on the amounts of electricity consumed.
Please, be reminded that non-contractual and non-metered electricity consumption are among the most common methods of stealing electricity. The first is expressed in unauthorized connection to grids, the second - in interference with the work or design of meters. Since the beginning of the year, violations in the amount of 9.8 million kWh of electricity have been detected in the region, the bulk of which is in small business.
IDGC of Centre – Belgorodenergo division reminds that in case of detection of theft, the violator not only compensates the damage to the power grid company, but is also brought to criminal or administrative responsibility with payment of a fine.
