Masters of Orelenergo improved their skills

IDGC of Centre – Orelenergo division held the Master’s Day. Heads of the enterprise, masters of crews for operation of electric grids and electrical equipment, as well as masters of crews for sale of value-added services from all the district subdivisions of Orelenergo took part in it.

The event took place on the site of Livensky Distribution Zone. A seminar was held for the masters on the rules for construction, reconstruction and comprehensive repair of overhead lines (Conductors) of 0.38-10 kV. The power engineers repeated and worked out at the training centre a sequence of work with lifting facilities and crew clearance for electric installations.

Particular attention was paid during the event to maintenance and repair of overhead lines with self-supporting insulated wire (SIW), as well as prevention of violations made during its installation. The relevance of the topic is related to the fact that this technology is increasingly used in Orelenergo. The masters’ knowledge gained at once could be applied in practice: they worked out the technology of installing SIW and fixture for its suspension, as well as installation of fastenings on facades of buildings.

"Master’s Days" are held in Orelenergo quarterly for many years. "Such events give a good opportunity to discuss topical production issues with colleagues, to exchange practical experience and developments. The crew master is responsible not only for quality of work carried out, but also for the safety of actions of all members of his crew, so it is necessary to update the knowledge on a regular basis," stresses Chief Engineer of IDGC of Centre – Orelenergo division Igor Kolubanov.
