12.07.2017

Results of the interregional contest for the "Best Scientific Project" among the scientific works of bachelors and masters in the field of electric power systems and grids of the "Electricity Systems" department of the branch of the "National Research University MPEI" in the city Smolensk, one of the organizers of which was IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division, were summed up in Smolensk.

The Central Contest Commission from IDGC of Centre - Smolenskenergo division included Deputy Chief Operating Engineer - Head of the High Voltage Grids Office Yury Krivtsov, representatives of the Smolensk Region Department for Energy, Energy Efficiency and Tariff Policy and the management of the MPEI branch in the city of Smolensk.

As a result of the competition, winners and prize holders were determined in several nominations. Among the masters the first-degree diploma was awarded in the nomination "The best scientific project in the field of technical and organizational measures to reduce electric energy losses in electric grids" to Evgenia Bulycheva for the project "Development of a system for optimal control of power grid operation modes", Evgenia Davydenkova for the study of the transmission capacity of automated distribution 10 kV electric grids, Ekaterina Nemchenkova for the analysis of ways of reduction of technological losses of electric power in distribution electric grids and Olga Chebotareva for the feasibility study of the selection of the supply voltage of remote agricultural consumers. And the victory in the nomination "The best scientific project in the field of using alternative methods of electric power transmission" was awarded to Master Ekaterina Petukhova for the investigation of the electricity transmission system based on alternative transmission lines.

Among the bachelors, the second-degree diploma was awarded to Alexander Nebogov in the nomination "The best scientific project in the field of technical and organizational measures to reduce electric energy losses in electric grids" for the work "Choice of schemes for the development of an industrial district". The best scientific project in the field of using alternative sources of power supply was the research work of Alexander Vedyukov "Construction of geothermal power plants". Also, the second-degree diploma was awarded to Vladislav Rogachev for his scientific work "Application of wind power plants for power generation" in the nomination "The best scientific project in the field of using alternative power sources". And Dmitry Mikhailov and Yury Shuraev were awarded with the second-degree diplomas in the nomination "The best scientific project in the field of automated control systems, relay protection and automatic control systems and AMR" with their studies of reconstruction of the 110 kV substation and calculation of protection of high-voltage electric motors. Nadezhda Petrova developed a teaching and methodical complex "Fundamentals of Energy" and received the second-degree diploma in the nomination "The best scientific project in the field of scientific and technical creativity and popularization of the electric power industry".

The works of the winners of the contest presented new technical solutions and technologies for power transmission lines, substations, distribution and connection points; automated control systems, relay protection and automation devices and automated electric power metering systems; technical and organizational measures to reduce the power losses in electric grids; research and development of principles for normalizing the reliability of distribution electric grids.

The contest for the best scientific project among the final qualification works of bachelors and masters in the field of electric power systems and grids has been held in the branch for several years. Its main tasks are: development of professional competence of graduates, improvement of professionally significant personal qualities of future power engineers, creation of conditions for professional formation and creative self-realization of students. The contest is designed to identify and support the best innovators, talented students, who are able not only to develop an innovative idea, but also to offer real steps to introduce it into production.
