In the first half of the year Kurskenergo saved more than 1.3 million kWh of electricity

12.07.2017

IDGC of Centre – Kurskenergo division summed up the results of the implementation of the energy saving and energy efficiency improvement program for 6 months of 2017. The total effect from its implementation was 1.322 million kWh. For comparison, this amount of electricity is equal to the monthly energy consumption of Ponyrovsky district of the Kursk region with a population of about 11 thousand people.

A large amount of savings - 827.09 thousand kWh - was received from the implementation of organizational measures of the program to reduce losses, including switching off transformers in low load conditions for substations with two or more transformers, switching off transformers with seasonal load, and levelling phase loads in 0.38 kV distribution networks.

495.02 thousand kWh were saved due to technical measures: replacement of wires for a larger section on overloaded power lines and replacement of the wire of taps of overhead lines in residential buildings with self-supporting insulated wire (SIW).

In addition, the branch reduced the consumption of electricity for household needs by 430.73 thousand kWh or 6.6% of the planned indicators. Employees of the branch replace incandescent lamps with energy-saving light-emitting diodes. Since the beginning of the year, 317 lamps have been replaced, the expected annual effect from this work will be 68 thousand kWh.

The expected effect from the implementation of energy-saving measures in Kurskenergo following the results of 2017, according to the plan, should reach 2.646 million kWh.
