Youth Council of Tverenergo talks about the power engineering profession for residents of the Tver region

03.07.2017

Members of the Youth Council of IDGC of Centre - Tverenergo division took part in the popular science festival "Physics, irrelevant and tea".

The event, organized by the practice-oriented scientific and technical club of Tver State University "Physics. The beginning of the journey" and Tver scholarship holders of the Vladimir Potanin Charity Fund is held in Tver for the second time. Participants of the festival are people of different professions and specialties who are ready to talk about their difficult work in an accessible and understandable language.

Tverenergo was represented at the event by Maria Shavrina, the head of the social relations department of Tverenergo, an activist of the Youth Council. Maria delivered a lecture "Energy: in plain language" in which she told the guests of the holiday in a simple way about, where the electricity comes to households from, and how its cost is formed.

In addition, an interactive site of the Tver branch of IDGC of Centre operated at the festival in the City Garden, where young power engineers demonstrated to the guests the uniform of an electrician, safety signs and voltage indicators necessary for work near electric power facilities.

Visitors had the opportunity to inspect the all-terrain vehicle Tinger used to transport workers to places of faults in hard-to-reach areas. Children and adults with genuine interest asked about special equipment and power equipment and made vivid photographs.

The power engineers of the Youth Council also held lessons on electrical safety for those who were interested during the summer holidays, including a master class on the resuscitation of the injured person using the example of the Gosha dummy-simulator.

As a result of the festival, the Youth Council was awarded with a letter of thanks for the help in organizing and conducting the event. Maria Shavrina was encouraged by a letter of gratitude for the lecture: "Electricity: in plain language!": "The Youth Council regularly participates in city events of various subjects. This is an excellent opportunity to attract the attention of citizens of Tver, and especially the youth, to the power engineering profession, to talk about the role of Tverenergo in the life of the city and the region and to show the importance and complexity of the work of the branch’s staff," Maria said.
