Students of BSTU named after Shukhov started their work at Belgorodenergo’s facilities

IDGC of Centre – Belgorodenergo division opened the fourth season of students’ construction crews of the power grid complex. 10 students of the Belgorod State Technological University named after V.G. Shukhov, who study in the field of "electric power engineering and electrical engineering", received their labour permits for work at power facilities of the region.

Within one and a half month the students will work as electricians for operation of distribution networks in crews of Belgorodsky Distribution Zone. They will have to master several areas of activity of power engineers, connected primarily with development and reconstruction of the grid complex, connection of new customers, preparation of power equipment for upcoming winter loads. In addition, the young people will participate in inspecting and measuring dimensions of power lines, applying and updating operator’s names.

At the opening of the work semester, Vladimir Rusanov, deputy chief engineer and head of the production safety and industrial control office of Belgorodenergo, said that the experience in the construction crew is a real school of life and a serious stage in the development of the students’ production skills. The young people will have the opportunity to learn in more detail about the peculiarities of the work of power engineers, apply the theoretical knowledge gained in practice and, of course, get a wide variety of experience, both communication in the work environment and the development of professional competencies.

Director of the Institute of Energy, Information Technologies and Control Systems of the BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov Alexander Belousov and chief engineer of the technological university, candidate of sociological sciences, honorary citizen of the city of Belgorod, member of the Public Chamber of the Belgorod region, veteran of the construction crew movement Georgy Golikov wished successes and fruitful working days to the students. Addressing their future colleagues, they noted that the knowledge gained in the course of real work at power facilities will be an excellent basis for the professional growth of the students.

The work of the students of the power grid complex has been organized in the Belgorod region for the fourth consecutive year. According to the general opinion of the power engineers and university teachers, this significantly improves the level of graduate training and helps students get a better idea of ​​the chosen profession.
