Likhoslavlsky district joins the fight against electricity theft

27.06.2017

The Regulation on interaction of IDGC of Centre – Tverenergo division and local authorities regarding the identification and suppression of the theft of electrical energy will be adopted in Likhoslavlsky district of the Tver region in the near future. The head of the municipal formation Natalia Vinogradova informed about it at the meeting of heads and headmen of settlements of Likhoslavlsky district. The intention of cooperation was the result of constructive interaction of power engineers and authorities.

As an invited guest, the event was attended by Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre – Tverenergo division director Vadim Yurchenko. The head of the electric grid company told the audience about the real state of affairs that had developed in Likhoslavlsky district with regard to the non-metered and non-contractual consumption of electric power. "The level of electricity losses in this municipality is high, almost a third of the resource that we supply to consumers is stolen and, accordingly, is not paid for. This vicious practice directly affects the quality and reliability of the power grid complex, limiting our possibilities for repair and reconstruction of power facilities."

Vadim Yurchenko once again explained the difference between non-contractual and non-metered consumption of electricity, noting that the power thieves include both legal entities and ordinary residents. The director of Tverenergo urged the heads of settlements and headmen to pay attention to facts of theft and to report them to representatives of the branch by calling the hot line of IDGC of Centre at 8-800-50-50-115, by the anonymous trust line of Tverenergo at 8 (961) 144-84-84, and also on a separate mailbox vorunet@mrsk-1.ru.

"We really need to start with ourselves, if we want the power engineers to have the opportunity to develop the power grid of our district," stressed Natalia Vinogradova. "The regulation will be signed in the near future, we will conduct large analytical and raid work at each settlement."

Joint work of power engineers and local authorities will be built following the example of the Burashevsky rural settlement of Kalininsky district, where the similar Regulation was signed back in April this year. There an energy inspectorate was created, consisting of representatives of the administration of the rural settlement, its residents and specialists of the Tver branch of IDGC of Centre. The energy inspectorate, which identifies facts of electricity theft, conducts checks and markings of consumer meters, monitors compliance with energy consumption modes and quality of electricity supplied. If necessary, law enforcement officers are involved in the work of the energy inspectorate.
