Implementation of Kostromaenergo’s annual program for clearing and expanding ROWs is on schedule

26.06.2017

Specialists of IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division, as part of the production program implementation, continue to clear and expand ROWs of power lines from tree and shrub vegetation. The work is carried out to reduce the number of technological violations caused by falling trees and twigs on wires of overhead lines passing through forest areas.

To date, 673.2 hectares have been cleared by power engineers, 49.1 hectares of power lines have been expanded. To improve the efficiency and quality of work, modern high-performance special equipment is used, in particular - mulchers, which provide complete grinding of vegetation into chips, which then does not need to be disposed of. The use of mulchers makes it possible to clean up in a short time, without damage to the environment and the risk of fire hazards in forest areas.

In total in 2017, Kostromaenergo plans to clear 1,672.2 hectares and expand 250 ha of ROWs. The most significant scope of work on 35-110 kV overhead lines will be carried out in Sharyinsky, Buisky, Nerekhtsky districts, and on 6 -10 kV lines in Antropovsky, Ostrovsky and Neisky districts of the Kostroma region. "The fulfillment of the work is one of the important conditions for the preparation of power grid facilities of the region for trouble-free operation through the autumn-winter period," notes First Deputy Director - Chief Engineer of Kostromaenergo Alexander Chutkov.
