Power engineers of Belgorod branch of IDGC of Centre exchanged experience with colleagues from Gomelenergo

A delegation of the energy company RUE Gomelenergo (Republic of Belarus) paid a working visit to IDGC of Centre – Belgorodenergo division to study the experience of automation of business processes on the basis of the SAP AG software of the ERP system (SAP software). The greatest interest of Belarusian colleagues was caused by the formation and maintenance of a single electronic database of power equipment in the functionality of maintenance and repair planning (Plant Maintenance) of the ERP system (SAP software).

Sergey Demidov, Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre – Belgorodenergo division director, noted that the implementation of the automated asset management system at IDGC of Centre was completed in 2010. Today, more than ten million pieces of electrical equipment are included in a single database. The main types of automated calculation of the index of technical condition, which is based on the results of diagnostics. For efficient functioning of the Plant Maintenance, the company has centralized management and common approaches to the planning of repair and investment activities, and a full-fledged IT infrastructure was created to directly manage these processes, covering all areas of power grids in 11 branches of IDGC of Centre.

According to Sergey Bobovich, the head of the delegation, General Director of RUE "Gomelenergo", this is not the first visit of Belarusian power engineers to the Belgorod branch of IDGC of Centre. The exchange of experience regarding the use of the ERP-system (SAP software) has been conducted since 2008, when Belarusian colleagues had a need to create a similar corporate information platform in RUE "Gomelenergo".

The ERP-system in IDGC of Centre constantly develops. In recent years, based on SAP AG solutions, a number of functionalities have been implemented that allow efficient management of business processes and react promptly to everything that happens in the power grid complex, in particular, the process of processing documentation for connection of consumers’ electrical installations to the company’s grid is fully automated.

The delegation visited the Customer Service Centre of Belgorodenergo, the Grid Control Centre and the Energy Efficiency Centre, and saw the benefits of a two-tier management system of the branch.
