02.06.2017

Specialists of the HR management department of IDGC of Centre – Smolenskenergo division during the period from January to May held meetings with schoolchildren of grades 9-11 and students of technical schools in all districts of the Smolensk region, where they talked about the daily work of power engineers, the tasks they faced and what you need to know in order to become a representative of this profession.

For example, on 12 May 2017, a vocational guidance meeting was held in three schools in Roslavlsky district of the Smolensk region. There, about 130 high school pupils learned about the power engineering profession, educational institutions, where they can have specialties needed for the industry, about the specifics of work in the electric power industry. The young people took interest in the topic of the conversation and actively asked questions.

As the specialists of the HR management department of the branch note, the main task of this activity is to tell the school leavers from the districts of the region about the power engineering profession, about the variety of specializations necessary for the industry, to cause the children’s interest in the electric power industry.

The branch on a constant basis involves in the ranks of its employees graduates of educational institutions of specialized departments. Agreements on cooperation were concluded with "NRU "MPEI", Smolensk Polytechnic College, Roslavl Multidisciplinary College, Desnogorsk Energy College, Vyazma Polytechnic Technical School, Vyazma Railway Technical School, Yartsevo Industrial Technical School. The most worthy and motivated students at the training stage are paid personal scholarships - they are 16 students of NRU "MPEI" and 6 students of "Smolensk Polytechnic College", with which scholarship contracts are concluded, and they receive additional financial support, and after graduation will be employed at Smolenskenergo.

A kind of "proficiency check" is the working season of students’ construction teams, which this year will also be held from 1 July to 15 August 2017. Within a month and a half, the staff of the branch will employ three dozen students of National Research Institute "Moscow Power Engineering University" in Smolensk. As a result of the last three seasons, 10 former construction workers were accepted to the branch after receiving their higher education, who currently work in various positions in Distribution Zones and technical services.

Production practice is annually organized for students of specialized departments both in Distribution Zones and in the executive office.
