29.05.2017

Within the framework of the "Energy Saving Week" in May 2017 specialists of IDGC of Centre – Smolenskenergo division held a series of energy saving classes in schools in the city of Smolensk and the region. The energy specialists told the children what electricity is, what natural resources are used to generate it, and why it is so important to know the rules of energy conservation from childhood.

Lessons for children were held in the form of "Travel to the country of energy saving". The main goal of the branch’s events is to attract the attention of the youth to the issues of rational use of energy resources.

For example, in one of the classes pupils of the second form of school No. 33 in the city of Smolensk had the opportunity to learn how to save energy in everyday life, see various energy-saving lamps, learn their differences from conventional incandescent lamps. Specialists of Smolenskenergo hope that the schoolchildren will apply the energy-saving rules that they learned at the class in their daily lives.

For the lessons the management of school No. 33 expressed gratitude to the specialists of the energy saving and energy efficiency office of the branch. "Carrying out lessons in a game form allowed the children to show their active participation, ask questions of interest to them and get acquainted with effective ways of saving energy," said the director of school No. 33 in Smolensk Sergey Zhoykin in his letter.

IDGC of Centre – Smolenskenergo division pays much attention to the issue of promoting energy saving among children and schoolchildren. In 2014, IDGC of Centre approved the guidelines for the promotion of energy saving and energy efficiency of production. On its basis, since September 2014, Smolenskenergo regularly conducts energy conservation lessons in schools of the city and the region. Over the past 5 months in 2017, 15 lessons were conducted in schools in the city of Smolensk and the Smolensk region. The number of schoolchildren who attended these lessons was more than 250 people. With the beginning of the school year, work in this direction will be intensified.
