10 May 2017, IDGC of Centre – Smolenskenergo division held competitions of professional skills among drivers. 16 best employees of the mechanization and transportation service from different Distribution Zones participated ion in them, of which eight teams were formed consisting of two drivers of cars and trucks and their leader. The event took place on the territory of Safonovsky Distribution Zone of the branch.
The purpose of the competitions is to assess and improve the level of professional training of the personnel of Smolenskenergo’s mechanization and transportation service, improve the quality and safety of vehicle driving, and share experience among the participants. Smolenskenergo pays serious attention to traffic safety, organizes work with personnel and controls the technical condition of the car fleet of the branch.
The drivers demonstrated their skills and mastery during six stages, in each of which the judging crews checked the level of professional knowledge, as well as the efficiency and clarity of the tasks.
The first two stages evaluated the theoretical knowledge of labour protection and safety rules, the Road Traffic Rules and the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. The third stage involved testing both theoretical knowledge and practical skills in providing first aid. During the fourth and fifth stages of the competition, the drivers demonstrated their ability to drive cars and trucks. At the last stage of the competition the participants evaluated the technical and safety condition of the car.
According to the results of all 6 stages, the drivers of the southern section are recognized as the most professional: Sergey Kamushkov and Sergey Zhukov. Silver medalists were representatives of the team of the Smolensk city section - Ivan Filippenkov and Alexander Kondrashov, and as in the previous year in Roslavl the drivers Valery Rykov and Gennady Lopatov took the bronze.
The best drivers in the individual classification are also identified. They were Alexander Uspensky from the eastern section, who became the best driver of a truck, and the driver of the southern section of mechanization and transportation Sergey Kamushkov, who won the nomination "the best driver of a car".
"Last year we held similar professional skills competitions in the winter to check the skills of our drivers in conditions of ice on the roads. In the current year, it was decided to change not only the time of holding, but also the venue, selecting Safonovsky district. During the event, our drivers proved that they are able to make quick decisions and professionally drive motor vehicles in an unfamiliar place and maneuver in any, even cramped conditions," stressed Nikolay Golubev, the head of the mechanization and transportation department of the branch.
