Kostromaenergo’s employees talk about electrical safety for preschool children

12.05.2017

Power engineers of IDGC of Centre - Kostromaenergo division held last Wednesday four electrical safety classes for pupils of senior and middle groups of kindergartens No. 86 and No. 29 of Kostroma. About 100 preschool children took part in them.

The occupational safety specialist Ekaterina Loginova told the children what electric current is, what it is useful and what it can be dangerous with, and what the role of electricity is in modern life. The preschoolers learned simple but very important rules for the safe use of electricity: why they must not approach and touch a broken wire, play near electrical installations, and even get inside them, and for what reason they must not use faulty electrical appliances. In the conclusion of the lessons, the children were asked to consolidate the acquired knowledge with the help of puzzles about electricity and cartoons on electrical safety.

Specialists of Kostromaenergo, as well as other branches of IDGC of Centre, conduct similar classes in pre-school and educational institutions of the regions in the framework of the regular work on the prevention of children’s electric injuries - both in a planned order and at the request of educational institutions.

"We are very grateful to the specialists of Kostromaenergo for their classes," says Irina Afanasyeva, an instructor at kindergarten No. 86. "Our children and employees have received a lot of useful information that they can apply in everyday life, as well as transfer the knowledge to their loved ones."
