IDGC of Centre – Smolenskenergo division has completed the preparation for mass repair and preventive work. As part of the inspection of the readiness of the branch’s subdivisions for safe and qualitative repairs the power company has implemented a number of technical and organizational measures aimed at preventing industrial injuries. So, on the eve of the mass work in the branch, measures were developed to ensure the safety of the work being carried out, the safety of crews and dispatching points with documents necessary for the safe organization and performance of work was checked.
By the beginning of the work, additional briefings and training of personnel on safety issues were conducted. In all Distribution Zones, demonstrative training permit procedures for personnel for various types of work were conducted. Personnel performing work at electrical equipment are provided with special clothing, protective equipment, appliances, tools and gears, first-aid kits, and stable communication with dispatchers. Dispatching points, in turn, are equipped with serviceable devices recording operating negotiations with the connection of all communication channels used.
The mass repair work is aimed at improving the reliability of Smolenskenergo’s power grid complex and ensuring uninterrupted power supply to the region’s consumers. The successful and timely completion of repairs directly affects the availability of the branch for the autumn-winter operation period of 2017-2018 and the trouble-free passage of winter maximum loads.
