Smolenskenergo urges debtors to observe payment discipline

Specialists of IDGC of Centre – Smolenskenergo division continue work on increasing the payment discipline of consumers for transmitted electricity and collecting overdue accounts receivable.

For the 1st quarter of 2017, courts of various instances considered 25 applications, initiated by IDGC of Centre – Smolenskenergo division, for the collection of 9.16 million rubles of electricity debts sold to consumers during the period of the performance of functions of the supplier of last resort and 36 applications for recovery of 27.91 million rubles of debt arising from other types of economic activities of the enterprise. As a result of joint work of lawyers, economists, representatives of the security service and the office of sale of the branch’s services, court decisions on the claims for a total of 37.07 million rubles were received.

The development of specific decisions for each organization that owes money to the branch is carried out by a commission specially set up in the branch, and is also put up for discussion by regional authorities that are interested in improving the situation, since funds from the provision of electricity transmission services are spent on repair and modernization of grids and power facilities of the Smolensk region.

Within the framework of regular meetings of the commission on accounts receivable, the situation with payments for electricity is constantly monitored, options for pre-trial settlement of issues are being worked out, which, if the legitimate rights of all interested parties are respected, will increase the payment discipline of consumers for supplied electricity, its transmission services, ensure high-quality and uninterrupted power supply to consumers.
