Kurskenergo carries out career guidance among students

First-year students of the Power Supply Department of South-Western State University had a tour of IDGC of Centre – Kurskenergo division. The young people visited the Kursk Region Energy History Museum and the Grid Control Centre (GCC).

Freshmen got acquainted with the activity of the backbone electric grid company of the region, the history of its creation and development, as well as the working biography of power engineers, who created and strengthened the power of the Kursk power system. In the GCC of Kurskenergo, they were shown modern equipment that allows monitoring the operation of power facilities on-line, making quick decisions in the event of abnormal situations.

Lyudmila Mokrousova, the head of the HR department of the branch, told the participants of the tour about the working conditions at the enterprise, about the social guarantees for employees stipulated in the collective agreement, about the prospects of career growth.

Teacher of the department "Power Supply", Ph.D. in Engineering Science Oleg Larin thanked the power engineers for organizing the tour: "Such events are very important, they help students make an informed choice of their future profession," he stressed.

Kurskenergo’s specialists regularly conduct tours for students of specialized educational institutions in the framework of vocational guidance work. Until the end of the year, more than 400 students of the SWSU, the Kursk State Agricultural Academy named after I.I. Ivanov and the Kursk College of Railway Transport, and other educational institutions will visit the branch’s facilities in different districts of the region, with which power engineers are linked by long-term cooperation.
