As part of the work on the professional guidance of the younger generation, specialists of IDGC of Centre – Smolenskenergo division met with schoolchildren of Sychevsky and Novoduginsky districts of the Smolensk region. The events were part of the HR work of the branch to attract young specialists to work at Smolenskenergo, including at Distribution Zones.

More than one hundred pupils of grades 9-11 of schools No. 1 and No. 2 in the town of Sychevka, and a school of the settlement of Novodugino learned about the power engineering profession, about what power facilities are served by IDGC of Centre – Smolenskenergo division, which specialties are in demand at the enterprise.

The main task of Smolenskenergo’s specialists is to help high school students decide on the choice of their future profession and interest them in work in the industry. Representatives of the HR management department of the branch accompanied their speech with a presentation on the general characteristics of production, the main occupations, the work of power engineers and their corporate events.

Particular attention was paid to the story about the work of operating personnel - electricians of first responding and mobile crews, electricians for operation of distribution networks, electricians for testing and measurements, drivers of specialized vehicles, dispatchers of operating and technological groups. These people in all weather conditions, around the clock, fulfill their main task of providing uninterrupted power supply to consumers in the Smolensk region.

"As a rule, graduates begin to think about choosing a future profession in advance and to make an informed choice, they should have information. Our specialists try to tell as much as possible not only about the activities of the branch, but also about where you can get a specialized education, what requirements are needed when applying for a job in Smolenskenergo," explained the head of the HR department of Smolenskenergo Alla Korolkova.

The schoolchildren reacted with interest to the proposed topic and asked many questions about the specifics of the energy profession, the opportunities for training in specialized universities and colleges in the Smolensk region, and found out what subjects would be useful at admission. A great interest was caused by the possibility of finding employment and further career prospects in Smolenskenergo.
