Tambovenergo’s employees visited the city of Volgograd

More than 80 employees of IDGC of Centre – Tambovenergo division and their family members visited the city of Volgograd, the hero city. The trip, which took place on the eve of the celebration of the 72nd anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War, was organized by the leadership of the branch together with the trade union committee.

The participants of the excursion got acquainted with the main places of interest and sights of Volgograd. The power engineers visited the main altitude of Russia 102.0 - Mamayev Kurgan, where the world famous sculpture "Motherland Calls!" is, visited the "Memory" Museum, laid a wreath and honoured with a minute of silence the dead soldiers at the Eternal Flame, which was lit on the Heroes’ Alley in Volgograd in 1963 in memory of the courage and heroism of all defenders of the city.

"The strongest impression on me was made by the monument-ensemble "To the Heroes of the Battle of Stalingrad" and the sculpture "Motherland Calls!" Their scale and greatness is literally breathtaking!", Vyacheslav Puzikov, an electrician of Northern Distribution Zone, shared his impressions of the trip.

"Our organization pays much attention to patriotic activities. In addition to travelling to places of military glory, we organize meetings with participants of the Great Patriotic War, we assist in the opening of monuments to pilots who died in the territory of the Tambov region, we organize thematic contests of children’s drawings.
