26.04.2017

IDGC of Centre – Kurskenergo division summed up the autumn-winter operation period of 2016-2017. Despite the difficult weather conditions, serious technological violations that caused damage to equipment, or long-term massive disconnections of consumers in the service area of the branch were not recorded.

The large-scale preparatory work carried out by the branch’s staff facilitated the successful operation through the autumn-winter period. The power engineers repaired 23 substations of 35-110 kV, 416 transformer substations of 6-10 kV, more than 2,500 km of overhead lines of 0.4-110 kV, brought 850.1 hectares of ROWs of overhead lines of all voltage classes to the standard state. All Kurskenergo’s units were timely provided with the necessary equipment, materials and spare parts, vehicles and specialized equipment. Joint trainings and exercises with the Ministry of Emergency Situations, administrations, executive authorities of districts of the region, related to practicing in the context of emergency situations were conducted.

Increased attention was paid to ensuring the readiness of forces and means to eliminate technological violations at power facilities. In the branch 10 mobile crews are formed, capable of performing work of any complexity, promptly travelling for this, including, and beyond the Kursk region. So, in December of last year and January of this year, Kurskenergo’s employees provided assistance in restoration of the energy supply to colleagues in the Rostov and Kaluga regions, disturbed by bad weather.

During the operation through the autumn-winter period the branch’s specialists managed to improve a number of key indicators, in particular, to reduce by 47% the number of outages in 6-110 kV electric grids and to decrease the time for eliminating technological violations at power facilities from 3.08 to 2.14 hours in relation to the same period last year.

"The power grid complex of the Kursk region in the winter period worked reliably, major failures and de-energizing of socially significant facilities was not allowed. This was largely due to the professionalism and responsible attitude to the work of specialists from all subdivisions of our branch," stressed First Deputy Director - Chief Engineer of Kurskenergo Vyacheslav Istomin.
