Head of the office of corporate and technological automated control systems of Smolenskenergo Andrey Zerov awarded the title of Honoured Power Engineer of the Russian Federation

According to the Russian President Vladimir Putin’s Decree No. 145 of 5 April 2017, for merits in the field of energy and long-term conscientious work, the head of the office of corporate and technological automated control systems of IDGC of Centre – Smolenskenergo division Andrey Zerov was awarded the honorary title "Honoured Power Engineer of the Russian Federation".

Andrey Zerov was born in the town of Roslavl in the Smolensk region. He has two higher educations: in 1985 he graduated from the Moscow Order of Lenin and the Order of the October Revolution Power Institute with a degree in Automation and Telemechanics, qualified as "Electrical Engineer", and in 2012 from the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, qualified as "Economist" in the specialty "Finance and credit".

Andrey Zerov began his working career at Smolenskenergo in 1985 as an engineer of the telemechanics service of the branch "Grid Division of Dispatch and Technological Management". Under his leadership, remote control complexes based on microprocessor systems were developed and implemented in different years; parts of operational information complexes of telemechanics that are still functioning, not worse in functionality than modern products; organized and carried out extensive work to replace the obsolete fleet of telecommunications equipment of the branch and much more. Since 2012, work is underway to implement digital radio communications. Currently, under the leadership of Andrey Zerov, modern communications centres of the branch network are formed, capable of receiving and processing all types of voice and data traffic. This became an important prerequisite for further development of the information technology infrastructure of Smolenskenergo in the face of ever-increasing demands for information exchange. Remote control of all 252 substations of the voltage classes of 110 and 35 kV was also performed with his participation in the branch.

Work experience in the energy industry is more than 30 years. He was previously awarded with the Certificate of Honour of the Ministry of Industry and Energy of the Russian Federation (2004) and the Gratitude of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation (2012).
