Specialists of IDGC of Centre – Kurskenergo division took part in the tactical and special training and review of the preparedness of forces and means involved in the liquidation of emergency situations. The events took place within the framework of the two-day field meeting of the Commission for the Prevention and Liquidation of Emergencies and Fire Safety under the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President of the Russian Federation in the Central Federal District (hereinafter referred to as the Commission), chaired by Deputy Plenipotentiary Nikolay Ovsienko.
The teaching was held on the first day of the Commission’s work. According to the scenario, as a result of the technological process violation, a fire broke out at Kurskiy Solod LLC, which resulted in an explosion followed by the release of chemically hazardous substances. In order to ensure the activities of rescuers, the specialists of the first responding mobile crew of the Kursk branch of IDGC of Centre made a number of necessary switching operations.
At the next day review, Kurskenergo was represented by a crew for repair and maintenance of substations. The power engineers demonstrated a specialized workshop installed on the chassis of the off-road vehicle. This unit is equipped with a gasoline generator, a workbench, a drilling machine, a sharpening machine, the necessary set of tools and devices for carrying out emergency recovery and scheduled operations, which makes it possible to repair the faulty unit in the shortest possible time without going to the base. The equipment available in the workshop can be powered from both an AC 0.4kV and an autonomous generator. In addition, the car is equipped with equipment that allows to diagnose and adjust switches of 10-35-110kV. There is a household compartment for the personnel.
The organizers of the events highly appreciated the professionalism of the personnel of Kurskenergo, as well as the level of the company’s provision with the means and equipment necessary to eliminate the emergency situation. "Well-coordinated and efficient cooperation of Kurskenergo, other services and departments with the regional department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations is one of the important factors for ensuring the safety of the region’s residents," Ivan Lunev, the head of General Directorate of EMERCOM for the Kursk region, said summing up their results.
