Belgorodenergo due to the bad weather introduced a special operating mode

19.04.2017

Due to unfavourable weather conditions by the decision of the head of the crisis management centre of IDGC of Centre – Belgorodenergo division a special mode of operation was introduced. The branch has a special control over the functioning of power facilities.

Weather conditions on the territory of the Belgorod region deteriorated significantly at night from 18 to 19 April. Strong snow, northeasterly wind of 2-11 m/s with gusts up to 15-17 m/s caused the sticking of wet snow on wires up to 2 cm thick and as a result there were local cut-offs on 0.4-10 kV overhead lines. There were 45 first responding mobile and 4 repair crews on duty.

At present, 26 repair crews consisting of 55 people and 26 specialized vehicles are taking part in the restoration of the cyclone-disturbed power supply. The power engineers organized an information exchange with territorial units of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and executive authorities. The Contact Centre of IDGC of Centre 24 hours a day receives calls from citizens via the single direct number of power engineers at 8-800-50-50-115 (free of charge), and the short number at 13-50.

According to Roshydromet, in the period from 9.00 a.m. to 08.00 p.m. on the territory of the region the wind of the northeast direction with gusts up to 15-17 m/s is expected. If necessary, the number of forces and means will be increased to 165 repair crews consisting of 826 people with 343 motor and specialized vehicles. The work will continue until the full restoration of reliable power supply.
