Distribution Zones of IDGC of Centre – Kurskenergo division held the next Safety Day. This event is conducted in all production subdivisions of the company every month to monitor compliance with the rules of labour protection and safety at work.
The commission, which included heads of the technical unit and specialized services of the executive office of Kurskenergo, checked the provision of the staff with overalls, protective equipment, tools, devices and necessary materials for safe work. The inspectors also assessed the sanitary condition of industrial buildings and premises, the implementation of safety and labour discipline at workplaces, conducted an inspection of vehicles intended for transport of people for their technical condition, the presence of emergency stop signs, first-aid kits, fire extinguishers and seat belts.
Particular attention was paid to accuracy of documentation, quality and timeliness of briefings. For personnel of the power line service, an unscheduled briefing was conducted on safety measures for installation of hoisting structures near power lines and work on overhead lines where the induced voltage is above 25 V. Electrotechnical personnel in practical classes worked out skills of conducting targeted briefings and issuing a work permit at a workplace.
As a result of the Safety Day, about 250 measures were planned to eliminate the identified violations, which must be performed before the next such event.
According to Deputy Chief Engineer and the head of the production safety and industrial control department of Kurskenergo Victor Sokolov, carrying out measures to control the observance of safety rules directly contributes to the prevention of industrial electric injuries, improves the quality of work and the level of production safety.
