16.03.2017

During the spring high water in the Orel region power grid facilities of IDGC of Centre – Orelenergo division are operating in the planned mode. This was facilitated by the preparatory work successfully carried out by the power company within the framework of which they implemented a set of measures to ensure reliable operation of electrical equipment during the flood, monitored by the Central Flood Commission formed in the branch, chaired by First Deputy Director - Chief Engineer Igor Kolubanov.

Specialists of Orelenergo conducted inspections of transitions of high-voltage lines through rivers with a check of the state of foundations of poles and protection of bases of the poles from ice drift. They checked serviceability of water craft, stationary and mobile pumps and other special equipment. Repeated briefings were given on the sequence of actions in the flood zones for operating, maintenance and repair staff.

In order to obtain operational information on weather conditions, snow melting intensity and flood risk, Orelenergo established permanent interaction with the territorial bodies of Roshydromet and EMERCOM of Russia, as well as regional and municipal authorities. The Flood Commission of the branch carries out constant monitoring of facilities located in areas of high risk. In case of occurrence of abnormal situations at power grid facilities of Orelenergo, 65 first responding and restoration crews provided with 135 vehicles are ready to proceed with their elimination.
