IDGC of Centre – Tambovenergo division summed up the implementation of the Program for reducing electricity losses. The actual level of electricity losses in the branch amounted to 7.03% (from electricity supply to the grid), which is 0.25% lower than the planned figure.
The main effect from the implementation of the activities of the Program for reducing electricity losses was given by raids to suppress non-metered and non-contractual consumption. Following the results of 2016, unfair consumers paid 69 acts of non-contractual consumption for a total of 6.9 million rubles and 1,732 non-metered consumption in the amount of 30.2 million rubles, including for previous periods. With the remaining offenders, the debt will be collected forcibly, in a judicial procedure, with all the court costs imposed on the perpetrators.
The reduction of electricity losses was also ensured by measures to replace metering devices that were out of order or found unfit for calculation due to the expiration of their inter-calibration interval for new ones. Other measures were also implemented, including replacement of overloaded and underloaded transformers, replacement of wires with a larger cross-section on overloaded power lines and uninsulated wire for self-supporting insulated wire in places of the largest power losses, switching off transformers in low load conditions in substations with two transformers, transformers with seasonal load and equalization of phase loads in distribution networks of 0.38 kV.
The implementation of the activities of the Program for reducing electricity losses contributes to an increase in the efficiency of electric grid facilities, the quality and reliability of power supply to consumers in the Tambov Region. Funds, saved as a result of effective implementation of measures to reduce losses, are used by the company, among other things, for the development of the region’s electric grid infrastructure.
