Smolenskenergo’s repair program 2016 fully implemented

03.03.2017

The repair program of IDGC of Centre – Smolenskenergo division was implemented in 2016 in full and in the planned time period. Total costs to carry out the repair work amounted to 192.46 million rubles. For this purpose, it spent 83.87 million rubles on the repair of cable and overhead power lines of 0.4-110 kV lines, 55.10 million rubles - 6-110 kV substations, 12.06 million rubles - buildings and structures. Smolensk power engineers spent 18.17 million rubles on the repair of motor vehicles and 23.26 million rubles - on the repair of means of dispatch and process control, instrumentation, as well as relay protection and automation.

As a result of the repair program in 2016 Smolenskenergo’s specialists repaired 720 km of power lines of 35-110 kV. The energy company performed comprehensive repair of 27 substations of 35-110 kV, which is 17% more than in 2015. The most important of them are: the Substation 110/10kV "Yartsevo-1", 110/6 kV "Zapadnaya", 110/10kV "Vyazma-2" and 110/35/10kV "Velizh". Furthermore, repairs were carried out on 1,668.37 km of 0.4-10 kV lines and 758 transformer substations of 6-10/0.4 kV (for comparison, in 2015 - only 508).

Particular attention in the implementation of the repair program in 2016 was paid to clearing and extension of ROWs. Clearing the ROWs of 110 kV overhead lines from trees and shrubs within the framework of maintenance activities in 2016 IDGC of Centre – Smolenskenergo division realized in the amount of the 110 kV overhead lines - 435.21 ha (for comparison: the standard football field area is less than 1 ha), 35 kV overhead lines - 324.69 ha, 6-10 kV overhead lines - 529.20 ha. 36.49 million rubles were spent to perform these activities. The annual plan for the expansion of ROWs of 6-110 kV overhead lines made by 100% and amounted to 560 hectares. All these measures significantly decrease the risk of falling trees and branches onto wires in spans of power lines, thereby reducing the likelihood of damage to overhead lines. These activities are carried out in strict accordance with the regulations and requirements of the legislation.

Performing the repair plan is an important area of Smolenskenergo’s preparation for the autumn-winter operation period. In particular, thanks to the timely implementation of the repair program, in October 2016 the branch received its certificate of readiness for the autumn-winter 2016/2017 period.

With the help of modern methods of organization and application of up-to-date technologies the branch improves the reliability of power supply to consumers, increases equipment life, and reduces the cost of the planned work.
