03.03.2017

Specialists of IDGC of Centre – Kurskenergo division took part in the scientific-practical conference on the theme: "Development of vocational education in the conditions of use of professional and international standards". The event was organized by the Committee of Education and Science of the Kursk region, the Regional Coordination Centre "Young Professionals" of the Kursk region, Kursk Institute of Education Development.

The report "Modern requirements to human resources of energy enterprises" at the conference was made by the head of the HR office of Kurskenergo Lyudmila Mokrousova. She noted that the major problems associated with the modernization of the energy sector, its transfer to innovative technologies dictate new requirements to graduates of secondary vocational schools, applying for a job at Kurskenergo. First and foremost, they must comply with professional standards in the specialty, know modern equipment and directions of grid development, the basics of logistics, workflow, rules of labour protection and safety.

The participants learned from the report the development of fruitful cooperation of Kurskenergo with educational institutions of the Kursk region that train specialists in the field of the electric power industry. Power engineers hold regular meetings with teachers and students, organize for them tours to facilities of the branch. Every year, students of specialized educational institutions have their practice at Kurskenergo. Most trainees after graduation have the opportunity to work at the enterprise. So, in 2016 59 graduates of Kursk Railway College, Kursk Electro-Technical School, Rila Aviation Technical College and Zheleznogorsk Mining Metallurgical College joined the ranks of the branch staff.

Kurskenergo’ representative also told the conference participants about the work carried out by Kurskenergo to prevent occupational injuries and health protection of employees, the control system over compliance with them. It is necessary for specialized educational institutions from the beginning of training to explain to students the importance and necessity of safety rules, binding to their strict compliance, stressed Lyudmila Mokrousova.

The conference participants called for joining efforts of employers, educational institutions and government agencies in order to form an effective personnel policy, taking into account the interests of local enterprises, including companies of the fuel and energy sector, the formation of a balanced labour market and consistent with its needs of professional education.
