Tverenergo summed up the implementation of the plan of electric energy losses

28.02.2017

In early February the Tver branch of IDGC of Centre held a production meeting with chiefs of Distribution Zones and heads of relevant departments, at which the results of the implementation plan of electric energy losses were announced for 2016.

In his opening speech, Acting Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre – Tverenergo division director Vadim Yurchenko stressed: "2017 has been declared by the leadership of "Rossetti" Group of Companies the year of struggle with losses. Commercial electricity losses are a serious financial loss of grid enterprises, taking their funds from solving urgent problems in the field of electricity supply. We will never be able to overcome the percentage of wear of electric grid facilities until we make all consumers get accustomed to pay for electricity. You can do this only with starting active work on revealing facts of non-metered and non-contractual consumption."

Deputy Director of the branch for sale and development of services Evgeniya Kovbas said that in October last year a meeting of deputy directors for sale and development of services of branches of IDGC of Centre was held to improve the efficiency of the formation of productive supply and reduction of electric energy losses. "The meeting identified the main directions and guidelines to optimize the activity of the unit for sale of services. We will have to perform serious and difficult work. Decrease of electric energy losses is a complex task, which, in its solution requires the development of specific measures based on a preliminary analysis of the actual structure of the losses and their causes," stressed Evgeniya Kovbas.

The meeting gave a special place to the discussion of the results of efforts to reduce electricity losses, in particular, the interaction of chiefs of the Distribution Zones with law enforcement agencies to detect and deter non-contractual and non-metered electricity consumption. Deputy Director for security of Tverenergo Denis Danilov drew his colleagues’ attention to the fact that in this situation, it is important to give serious consideration to finding new mechanisms to identify and prevent unauthorized energy consumption facts, "the key to successful combat of energy theft is the overall operation of units of electric energy metering and the security department. An operational and visiting group of internal audit has been working for four months already at the branch. In this short time the team of three people has been able to identify and certificate almost 6 million KWh, stolen by consumers, conducted more than 50 raids. Given the scale of theft of electricity in the Tver region, and the length of the region, the branch has planned to increase the number of operating and field teams. We have a firm belief that none of the perpetrators can escape from legal responsibility."
