In 2016 Smolenskenergo connected two new kindergartens to its grid

17.02.2017

In accordance with the approved plan and the federal program, during 2016 IDGC of Centre – Smolenskenergo division completed the connection to its grid of 36 socially important facilities, which included kindergartens in the settlement of Odintsovo and the city of Smolensk. The total capacity of the facilities is 174 kW.

The kindergarten in the settlement of Odintsovo, designed for 150 seats, was connected to the grid of the energy company in the framework of the modernization program of preschool education systems. The project provided for construction of two 0.4 kV cable lines with their approximate length of 100 metres. The kindergarten was powered from the substation "South" as the first category customer and is provided with a redundant power supply source. Thus, in case of failure on one line it will be automatically switched to the second, and the kindergarten will continue to receive electricity in a normal mode.

Also, the grid connection of the building of the "Nastya" kindergarten on New Leningrad street in the city of Smolensk was completed in 2016. The main source of power supply was the 200-metre section of a 0.4 kV cable line.

Smolenskenergo performs all work on the grid connection with modern electrical equipment, providing a high level of electrical safety. During the reconstruction of overhead power lines above 1 kV are removed from the territory of educational institutions, with the impossibility of removal - transferred to a cable line. Construction of lines up to 1 kV on the territories of schools and kindergartens is carried out using safe, insulated wires, lines above 1 kV - with cables.
