Smolenskenergo continues to perform claim-related work on the collection of accounts receivable

In 2016, in the courts of various levels on the initiative of IDGC of Centre – Smolenskenergo division 105 applications were considered for the recovery of 48.89 million rubles of debt for electricity sold to customers in the period of performing the functions of a supplier of last resort, and 213 applications for the recovery of 315.73 million rubles of debt arising from other types of business of the enterprise. The courts ordered to recover 229.30 million rubles in favour of Smolenskenergo.

IDGC of Centre – Smolenskenergo division pays special attention to collecting accounts receivable. all mechanisms envisaged by the legislation are used to solve this problem – claim-related work and judicial procedures. The most effective tool of influence on debtors is precisely the claim-related work.

The question of consumer debt repayment is important for Smolenskenergo, as funds, received for services rendered for electricity transmission, are usually spent for repair and modernization of power grids. The ongoing work is aimed at improving the reliability of equipment of electric grid facilities and uninterrupted power supply to residents of the Smolensk region.

"Smolenskenergo encourages those, who still have not paid their arrears of payment for services of electricity transmission, to do it soon, otherwise the branch will be forced to file a lawsuit in court, then the debtor is obliged to pay not only the accumulated debt, but also the legal costs, other costs and expenses associated with the execution of a court decision," stressed the head of the legal groundwork office of Smolenskenergo Maxim Antipov.
