IDGC of Centre - Tambovenergo division summed up the implementation of measures to curb non-metered and non-contractual electricity consumption for 2016. During this period the branch carried out large-scale raid work on the identification of cases of theft of electricity, which staff of Distribution Zones, experts of the security unit and the office of electric energy metering participated in. Particular attention was paid to problematic customers: their check was preceded with thorough training and coaching of members of the raids by staff of the security unit of Tambovenergo. As part of the operational-search activities employees of Federal Security Service and Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia in the Tambov region were involved to participate in the raids.
As a result of the raids 1,942 facts of illegal electricity consumption were revealed, totalling 25.692 kWh. The damage to Tambovenergo by unscrupulous consumers amounted to about 75 million rubles.
Power engineers took measure for compensation. At the end of twelve months of the year unscrupulous consumers already paid for 69 acts of non-contractual consumption totalling 6.9 million rubles, and 1,732 acts of non-metered consumption in the amount of 30.2 million rubles, including for previous periods. Debt will be levied by force from other violators, in the courts, with the laying of court costs on all the perpetrators.
"As a result of illegal connections to electricity lines the company receives less financial resources, which were planned to spend on reconstruction of power grid facilities, commissioning of additional capacities. Such actions are dangerous unscrupulous consumers as well because they can not only lead to electric shock, damage to electrical equipment, fire and damage to expensive electrical equipment, but also to the litigation, and in some cases to criminal cases," stresses the head of the electricity metering office of Tambovenergo Vyacheslav Salnikov.
IDGC of Centre - Tambovenergo division reminds that in relation to persons involved in the theft of electricity, the law provides for the most severe sanctions, as illegal connections to the grid directly affect the quality and reliability of power supply to bona fide users, facilities of high social importance - hospitals, kindergartens, schools. and other socially significant infrastructure.
