At the end of 2016 IDGC of Centre – Smolenskenergo division performed more than 4.4 thousand contracts for grid connection. The total connected capacity was 96.8 MW. The vast majority of grid connections (90.6%) is connection of consumers with maximum power up to 15 kW inclusive.
Also in 2016, 387 legal entities were connected in the Smolensk region. In support of the development of agriculture in the territory of the Smolensk region IDGC of Centre – Smolenskenergo division gives priority to projects of grid connection and provision of additional capacity to agricultural enterprises. So in 2016, the grid connection of 24 agricultural projects in 15 districts of the region was completed, the branch provided the connection to electric grids of power installations of agricultural facilities with total power of about 2.8 MW.
Another important area of activity of the branch is the grid connection of socially significant facilities in the region. In 2016, Smolenskenergo’s experts provided power supply to 36 such facilities with a total capacity of 7.4 kW. To improve the availability of the grid infrastructure there is work on the connection of small and medium-sized businesses. At the end of the year 56 contracts were performed with such applicants.
Availability of grid connection is a key factor for business development in the region, eventually determining the investment attractiveness of the Smolensk region. That is why grid connection of applicants has been and remains a priority and one of the main activities of IDGC of Centre – Smolenskenergo division. This year, Smolenskenergo intends to ensure the timely implementation of the connection of consumers, to strive to simplify the procedure and reduce the timing of connection electrical installations of applicants to power grids.
