In the first quarter of 2017 IDGC of Centre – Smolenskenergo division plans to complete the grid connection of a sports facility of LLC "Sport-VM" on Dzerzhinsky street in the city of Smolensk. The maximum capacity of the facility will be 149 kW. As part of the grid connection a 6 kV cable line of about 500 metres will be constructed. Of these, 100 metres of the cable line will be performed by horizontal directional drilling.
Smolenskenergo does grid connection of new sports facilities not only in the regional centre, but also in other settlements of the region. So, in 2016 the power company completed the connection of the main sports facility of Kardymovsky district - a sports and recreation complex. Smolenskenergo within the project constructed 60 metres of a 0.4 kV cable line. The facility opening took place September 15, 2016. A year earlier, it completed the grid connection of a new sports and recreation complex in the village of Temkino, an indoor sports facility in the city of Yartsevo of the Smolensk region, and a tennis court in the city of Safonovo.
Connection of facilities to electric grids is one of the main activities of IDGC of Centre – Smolenskenergo division. At the same time, special attention is paid annually to work at critical infrastructure facilities.
Currently, more than 96 thousand people do sports in sports organizations in the city of Smolensk. Sports facilities of the regional centre allow to hold competitions of any level, to train athletes, including members of the national team. Athletes from Smolensk become champions of Russia, Europe, world and Olympic champions. That is why the construction of new modern sports facilities is given great importance to.
