Orelenergo held the Safety Day

IDGC of Centre – Orelenergo division held the Safety Day. The purpose of this monthly event is to provide control over the observance by the staff of rules of occupational health and safety, prevention of occupational injuries and improve the culture of work performance.

Managers and technical specialists checked workplaces of operating, maintenance and repair personnel, provision of crews with protective equipment, appliances, tools, work clothes, whether the workplaces had first aid kits.

For production staff workshops were organized at training centres in which their skills were perfected for routine switching, processing work permits and work clearance.

An additional briefing was held with drivers of Orelenergo about the conditions of use of vehicles and traffic safety during winter. Availability and safety of heating appliances in crew vehicles was checked.

At the end of the Safety Day staff of the occupational safety and production control office of Orelenergo developed a list of measures to eliminate detected violations. Checking their performance will be held during the next such event to be held in February.

"Safety Days and inspections of permanent and temporary workplaces of production staff are conducted by Orelenergo regularly. Consistent theoretical training and development of practical skills are the most important components to ensure the safety of our specialists at work," stresses the head of the occupational safety and production control office of Orelenergo Ivan Shvalev.
