Kurskenergo held the first this year’s Safety Day

IDGC of Centre – Kurskenergo division held the first in 2017 Safety Day. Such activities are carried out in Kurskenergo, as in other branches of the company, on a monthly basis in order to monitor compliance of its staff with the rules of occupational health and safety at work.

The Commission for holding the Safety Day, composed of managers and specialists of the executive office, the office of production safety and industrial control, the technical unit, the service of mechanization and transportation of Kurskenergo, checked provision of the staff of Distribution Zones and services of the branch with special clothing and footwear, protective tools, rigging and fittings.

At temporary and permanent workplaces there were checks of compliance with the rules of work clearance of personnel, maintenance of substation equipment and power lines. Special attention was paid to compliance of the employees with the requirements of existing rules, regulations, instructions, standards and other guidance documents for safety, the quality of conduct of operating talks.

During the practical part of the Safety Day demonstrations of work clearance of the personnel of departments of distribution and high voltage grids, crews for servicing electrical equipment of Distribution Zones were held. Leaders of the service of mechanization and transportation of Kurskenergo conducted an additional drivers’ briefing, during which drew attention to the need for strict observance of traffic rules and speed limits in the conditions of black ice on the roads.

The program of the first this year’s Safety Day also included an additional check of specialists of contractors carrying out work at electrical installations of Kurskenergo.

Following the results of the Safety Day, the Commission scheduled 280 measures aimed at improving the skills of employees, increasing the safe operation of equipment. According to the plan, they need to be performed prior to the next Safety Day.
