Students of specialized educational institutions learn the basics of the profession at Kurskenergo’s facilities

IDGC of Centre – Kurskenergo division summed up the work on organizing the passage in 2016 of production practice in departments of the enterprise by students of specialized higher and secondary special educational institutions. This opportunity during this period was received by undergraduates of Kursk State Agricultural Academy, Southwestern State University, Kursk Electrical Technical College and Kursk Electrical Installation College, as well as students of the Kursk regional centre for training and retraining of housing and communal services and training and production centre – a total of 326 people.

Under the guidance of experienced mentors the trainees learned the basics of their future profession, acquiring skills for operating power equipment and relay protection and automation devices. Before the start of training they were required to attend primary and induction trainings.

Site selection and specific work, carried out by the students, were directly related to the topics of their theses. This helped the young people better understand the subject matter and be better prepared to defend their research projects.

During the practical training tours to the Grid Control Centre of Kurskenergo were organized for the students, where they got acquainted with the work of dispatching service of the branch, saw modern equipment that allows to monitor on-line the work of power facilities and operating mobile crews, and to the Museum of the history of energy. And also meetings with representatives of the technical unit and the HR office, who helped the trainees get an idea about the technical, corporate and social policy of Kurskenergo.

"Practical training in Kurskenergo - this is not just an opportunity in practice to consolidate theoretical knowledge acquired in the classroom. It can also be a starting point in the industry career of the future power engineers. Based on its results, we can identify the most competent and promising young people, who at the end of study, are invited to work at the branch. Today Kurskenergo has more than 1,500 graduates from educational institutions of the Kursk region - and many of them hold management positions," stressed the head of the HR office of Kurskenergo Lyudmila Mokrousova.
