Kurskenergo awarded winners of a children’s drawing contest on the energy saving theme

IDGC of Centre – Kurskenergo division awarded winners of the contest of children’s drawings "Energy Saving - a reasonable solution!", organized by the power company to promote energy-saving lifestyle among schoolchildren, increasing their level of knowledge in the field of energy consumption and energy conservation, formation with children of a system of ecological perceptions and understanding of the need for respect for the environment.

The contest was held in three age categories, from 6 to 17 years with the support of the Committee of Education and Science of the Kursk region and the regional Energy Efficiency Centre. Its participants were asked to express in any painting technique (oil, watercolour, coloured pencils) and on any material (drawing paper, cardboard, etc.) of the A4 or A3 format) their vision of energy-saving lifestyle, show examples of the rational use of energy resources.

316 schoolchildren from secondary schools of the region presented their works to the jury. The jury assessed the works on the basis of compliance with the given topic, the originality of the work execution, creative forms of delivery.

The first place in the younger age category was taken by Pavel Lukashev – a 4th grade pupil from Malogneushevsky branch of the municipal budgetary general education institution "Kuibyshevskaya Secondary School". He painted the story of the cat Seraphim, which greatly reduced energy costs by applying energy-saving technologies in his home. Pavel accompanied each drawing with a verse.

In the middle age category the winner was Evgeniy Seregin – a 7th grade pupil from the municipal budgetary general education institution "Vinnikovskaya Secondary School". His drawing (March of Green People) is dedicated to a rally of inhabitants of a forest in support of the development of renewable energy sources.

In the older age category the jury recognized Maxim Syurin’s work as the best – a 11th grade pupil from Malogneushevsky branch of the municipal budgetary general education institution "Kuibyshevskaya Secondary School". He suggested eight ways to save energy at home.

"I saw a lot of original works made in different graphic techniques: watercolour, gouache, graphite pencils ... The children not only demonstrated their talent, originality of thought, but also showed an unusual approach to the given subject presentation," stressed a member of the jury, a methodist of the regional centre of development children and young people Irina Igina.

Presenting the winners with diplomas and gifts, and their teachers – with letters of thanks, the head of the HR office Lyudmila Mokrousova stressed that the annual contest of children’s drawings is one of the activities of the branch, which enable children to develop their artistic skills, creative thinking and look at the familiar world with a new vision.
