Kurskenergo held the Safety Day

IDGC of Centre – Kurskenergo division held the Safety Day. The purpose of this event is to prevent occupational injuries and improve the culture of production, it is held on a monthly basis in all branches of IDGC of Centre.

Specialists of the technical unit of Kurskenergo examined workplaces of operating, maintenance and repair personnel, provision of crews with protective equipment, rigging, fixtures, tools, work clothes, provision of workplaces with first aid kits.

Workshops on working out routine switching skills, work permits and clearance were organized for electricians. Employees of the core business units of Kurskenergo also were trained to perform work outdoors at low temperatures, and were instructed on first aid with hypothermia and frostbite. Particular attention was paid to implementation of technical measures in the preparation of workplaces at electrical installations, observance of safety rules when working with tools.

Drivers of the branch further explored the features of operation of vehicles in winter conditions. In addition, for the drivers due to the sleet additional briefings and workshops on safe driving were conducted.

As a result of the Safety Day conduct staff of the industrial safety and production control office of Kurskenergo developed a list of measures to eliminate identified violations. Their performance will be checked during the next such event to be held in January.

"All the activities, which we carry out in the framework of the Occupational Health and Safety Days, are aimed at ensuring safe working conditions of employees of the branch, preservation of their life and health," stressed Deputy Chief Engineer - Head of the industrial safety and production control office of Kurskenergo Victor Sokolov.

In total this year, Kurskenergo held twelve Safety Days, as well as eight integrated and more than 14 thousand unannounced inspections of permanent and temporary workplaces of electrical personnel of the enterprise.
