For the professional holiday more than 250 employees of IDGC of Centre – Belgorodenergo division received state, departmental, regional and corporate awards. This year the Power Engineers’ Day coincided with the 55th anniversary of the Belgorod power system and the 50th anniversary of the holiday itself. It was established by the Decree of the Presidium of the Supreme Soviet of the USSR on 23 May 1966 to commemorate the adoption of the plan of electrification, which started mass electrification and industrialization of the country.
For a significant contribution to expanding integration processes and development of the power industry of states - participants of the CIS an honorary diploma of the CIS Electric Power Council was awarded to First Deputy Director - Chief Engineer of IDGC of Centre – Belgorodenergo division Sergey Reshetnikov. An honorary title "Honoured Power Engineer of the Russian Federation" was awarded to the chief of the operating and technological group of Belgorodsky Distribution Zone of IDGC of Centre – Belgorodenergo division Vladislav Glushko. A number of other employees were distinguished with diplomas and letters of thanks the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, Governor of the region and Chairman of the Belgorod Regional Duma. In particular, the ministerial rank of "Honoured Power Engineer" was awarded to the coordinator of the production control department of IDGC of Centre Nikolay Kubrak; an electrician for operation of distribution networks of Shebekinsky Distribution Zone Nikolay Kuznetsov and an engineer for relay protection and automation of the Eastern section of the service for relay protection, automation, measurement and metrology of IDGC of Centre – Belgorodenergo division Leonid Rostovtsev.
The importance of the work of representatives of the energy industry was distinguished by Deputy Governor Oleg Abramov: "You are responsible for the reliable and uninterrupted power supply in the region. Development of economy and social sphere directly depends on your work, and hence well-being of residents of the region. With your many years of work you on a daily basis prove to be called professionals of the highest level," he stressed.
Oleg Abramov called modernization and development of electric grid facilities as one of the priority directions of development of the sector, which is of strategic importance. The investment program of the branch exceeded 4 billion rubles in 2016. These funds were invested in the infrastructural development of the region - improving reliability, reconstruction of large supply centres, replacing end-of-life grids, connecting hundreds of agricultural enterprises and social facilities. In the outgoing year it constructed and reconstructed a total of more than 800 km of 0.4-110 kV grids, put into operation about 150 MVA of new capacity.
Deputy General Director of IDGC of Centre – Belgorodenergo division director Sergey Demidov congratulated the staff of many thousands on their professional holiday: "Power engineers have always been distinguished by high professionalism, awareness and discipline. Each of you has a huge responsibility, a team of friendly and professional people is behind each of you, ready at any moment to come to the rescue. And today, in your professional holiday you are at the office, providing uninterrupted operation through the autumn-winter period," he stressed. Sergey Demidov thanked colleagues for their work, endurance and courage they show in extreme conditions, battling with bad weather. Special words of gratitude were addressed to veterans of the power industry - for created reserve of capacity and reliability of the energy system of the region by them.
In addition to the awards to the power engineering holiday, those who participated in the liquidation of consequences of freezing rain in the Moscow region, today received letters of thanks from the management of PJSC "MOESK". Several mobile crews for a few days were restoring electricity supply in settlements of the Moscow region. Due to serious consolidation efforts, the electricity supply in the regions, interrupted by bad weather, was restored as soon as possible, which prevented serious social consequences.
