The Youth Council of IDGC of Centre – Tverenergo division won the contest of social projects "Best social practice", organized by the Civil Society Development Association "Institute of Regional Development".
The contest "Best social practice" was launched in September 2016 and held in three nominations: "Best Project of a nonprofit organization", "Best project of an initiative group" and "Best social project of a commercial company", in which the Youth Council of Tverenergo won. Within this category social projects were considered that promote citizens’ participation in socially useful activities and solving urgent social problems of territories, implemented or funded by commercial companies.
The contest included correspondence and intramural stages. In the correspondence stage the Contest Committee members reviewed the set of documents submitted for the Contest. Following the results of analysis of applications the best practices were selected in each of the nominations and on 9 December 11 nominees presented their social projects to the competent jury. The contest jury evaluated the submitted projects according to the criteria of efficiency of implementation of the practice, social effect of the project, project sustainability and public recognition.
The presentation of the project "Safe Electricity" was held by Maria Mayakova, an engineer of the diagnostics service of the Tver production base of IDGC of Centre – Tverenergo division. "Our site is a location at a mass urban event, in which children and adults learn the rules of safe and careful use of electricity, as well as rules for being near electric grid facilities. To do this, we conduct interactive lessons and competitions, bring special equipment, tools and accessories of power engineers," said Maria.
In 2016 the project "Safe Electricity" was implemented in the "Square of Good" (16.04.2016), the festival "Cardboard box man: City of trades" (04.06.2016), the Day of the city of Vyshny Volochek (25.06.2016) and the Day of Vyshnevotsky district (09.07.2016), the All-Russian festival of energy saving "VmesteYarche" (03.09.2016). In total, the Youth Council reached more than 3 million people in the region. "The work in this direction will certainly continue next year. We constantly seek new forms and methods of delivering information to the most vulnerable categories of the population - children," explained Vladimir Gorlanov, Chairman of the Youth Council of Tverenergo, an engineer of relay protection and automation of the Tver production base of IDGC of Centre – Tverenergo division.
It is worth noting that for active social activity in 2016 the Youth Council of IDGC of Centre – Tverenergo division was awarded the III place in the nomination "To the Council of young specialists - YES!" of the Regional contest of working professions "Masters of the Upper Volga - 2016".
