IDGC of Centre – Smolenskenergo division for the first time held a contest-review for the best exposition "History of Distribution Zone". The initiator of the competition was the Veterans’ Council of the branch.
all 26 Distribution Zones took part in the competition. According to the contest an exposition was to contain information on the establishment and operation of a Distribution Zone, the socio-economic features of a district, electric grid facilities of the Distribution Zone at the time of creation, and to date, photos of managers and honourable workers. The exposure also devoted a separate section to employees of the Distribution Zone - participants of the Great Patriotic War, home front workers, juvenile prisoners.
The commission consisting of seven members, headed by the head of the HR department of Smolenskenergo Alla Korolkova and Chairman of the Veterans’ Council Viktor Frolov estimated richness, clarity, originality and authenticity of the information collected. In evaluating the works the jury considered the level of the execution plan, the availability of interesting historical facts, illustrations, models, charts, as well as the brilliance and originality of design.
In accordance with the decision of the competition commission the exposition of power engineers of Safonovsky district was recognized as the best, the second place was shared by their colleagues from Demidovsky and Sychevsky Distribution Zones, and the third went to Elninsky and Ugransky Distribution Zones.
"The contest-review was intended to draw attention to the history of the power industry of different districts of the Smolensk region as an important component of formation and development of the region. We hope that the resulting historical expositions will attract the attention of visitors to Distribution Zones during open doors days, meetings with customers, excursions for schoolchildren," stressed Chairman of the Veterans’ Council Viktor Frolov.
The Distribution Zones, which were among the prize-winners, will be awarded during the celebration of the Power Engineers’ Day on 22 December 2016.
