14.12.2016

IDGC of Centre – Kurskenergo division continues regular work on the prevention of children’s electric injuries in educational institutions of the Kursk region. Electrical safety lessons are an important part of it. Employees of the branch conduct them throughout the year in schools of the region.

The next session was held recently in the Chernichenskaya general education school of Konyshevsky district. It was attended by 25 pupils of grades 4-6.

An engineer of the occupational safety and production control office Pavel Bukhantsev and deputy chief of Konyshevsky Distribution Zone for sale of services Kirill Alfimov introduced the schoolchildren to the basic rules of electrical safety. Kurskenergo’s experts told the children how to behave near energy facilities in the street and at home, on the causes of electric shock, and clearly demonstrated the principle of "step voltage" occurring when there are technological disturbances at power equipment. Using a training simulator "Gosha", they demonstrated techniques of cardiopulmonary resuscitation in the delivery of first aid in the event of cardiac arrest due to electric current. Also on the eve of the winter holidays the power engineers reminded the children of the need to be cautious in dealing with Christmas lights and other electrical decorations.

To consolidate the basic rules of electrical safety thematic presentations and videos were shown to the children. The lesson was lively and interesting. The children asked the organizers questions, told examples from their own life, shared their knowledge with classmates about electricity and safe handling rules with it.

The school teachers thanked Kurskenergo’s employees, noting the importance of the activities that contribute to the preservation of life and health of children.

In total, during the current year the power company held 130 electrical safety lessons in the educational institutions of the region. They were attended by more than three thousand schoolchildren. By the end of the year 7 more classes are scheduled, which over 150 children will take part in.
