Kostromaenergo took part in a round table of the regional administration for career guidance

06.12.2016

The Kostroma branch of IDGC of Centre took part in a round table on vocational guidance activities for schoolchildren of the Kostroma region. The event was chaired by Deputy Governor of the Kostroma region Olga Eremina. IDGC of Centre was represented at the round table by the head of the HR department of the branch "Kostromaenergo" Nadezhda Muravyeva. The event was also attended by HR heads of several industrial enterprises of the city of Kostroma.

One of the key topics discussed at the meeting was the cooperation of employers with educational institutions. The Kostroma branch of IDGC of Centre does this work systematically and in a versatile manner. In her speech, Nadezhda Muravyeva considered different directions of career guidance of Kostroma power engineers of IDGC of Centre. In particular, electrical safety classes, where the branch experts tell children not only about the rules of safe behaviour, but also about their work. Total for 2016 in the Kostroma region 198 such lessons were organized. "Kostromaenergo" also takes part in various regional festivals held for schoolchildren, so in 2016 the Youth Council presented the company at the First festival of mobile games and the Festival of energy saving "VmesteYaRChE".

The head of HR of Kostromaenergo said that for high school children and college students the branch organized Open Doors Days with a visit to the Museum of History of the Kostroma power system and modern grid control centre. In 2016, 27 tours were held, in which about 600 people participated. Only in November of this year, about 50 students of Kostroma Energy College named after F.V. Chizhov, majoring in "Electric stations, grids and systems" within the nationwide "Week without turnstiles" had an excursion in the branch. Collaboration of Kostroma Energy College and the branch is the most effective, since about 50% of workers in the branch studied at Kostroma Energy College.

Concluding the presentation, Nadezhda Muravyeva noted that despite the active professional work the branch has to face some problems: graduates do not always come back to work in their location, giving their preference to the city, because the principle of distribution of graduates was lost, as well as the principle of "state order of graduates".

As a result of the round table it was decided to carry out adjustments of forecasts of needs of municipal educational institutions in skilled workers, employees and specialists and a monthly program for career guidance for 2017 was developed. Positive experience in career counselling of the Kostroma branch of IDGC of Centre was taken as the basis for the program.
